Final Post! (Night Class)

Congratulations on completing the course I had a great time working will all of you.  I just have one more question.   Did utilizing a blog in this class benefit you in anyway?  For example did doing this exercise make you closer with any of your peers, did it help you be more prepared for class or did it expose you to new information.  Please be as specific as possible, don’t be afraid to look back at old post for ideas.  If participating in this class blog did not benefit you please (which is ok I like honesty) be specific with your reasons.  Thanks again for participating in this activity I feel like it enriched our class.

  1. I feel like this blog did help. It helped us reflect on what we learned in class somedays, in a fun way by letting us explain our point of view and letting us see whether other people agreed or disagreed. I personally liked it because not only was it an easy assignment but its different then being told to write a paragraph on what we learned. It helped me understand how to write what i wanted to say about the question. Keep using it for future classes!

  2. I think that using the blog was a great way to express what we learned in class. I think it helped us understand the lesson and think more about it as we answered the questions in the blog. It was very different for me at first but I feel like it helped me understand the focus of that class. I think it's a great idea and should use it for future classes.

  3. The blog has been a really beneficial learning tool to me. Coming from economics classes at Rosemount where all we do is read the book, every chapter, and fill out huge packets of confusing, unnecessary information. Using mostly the blog and naiku for assignments has been really a good experience, because you really get to the core of what you're supposed to be learning, and it makes it easier for what we are learning to actually make sense. The blog reinforces everything and I think it should definitely be kept as a tool for your future classes.

  4. I enjoyed using the blog. It reinforced what we learned in class. I liked that we could view other people's opinions and thoughts on the topic. It's much better than reading packets and answering questions like we do in some classes. This is something I haven't done before so it was a fun, new experience. I would recommend using the blog to future classes.

  5. I think that the blog posts helped me. I feel like it helped as a review of what we had learned in class. I also liked how we could read everyone else's ideas because i believe it helped you learned even more. I found is better then having to read a textbook every night, or having to fill out worksheets. I definitely think that you should use this in future classes and not just for econ classes.

  6. I think using the blog was a great idea. I really enjoy reading the posts. It helps me to understand each each of us better. I really like it because we all get to contribute our thoughts. This is better than doing actual homework because it's more involved and more thought goes into it. I think you should use this blog for future classes.

  9. I definitely think the blog was a great idea. It's much more engaging than more conventional methods. We can interact and see what others think, which we wouldn't be able to do if you had just made us turn in papers or homework.

  10. I really liked the blog writing because it caused us to apply what we learned in class to ourselves and our experiences. I also gave each student an opportunity to voice themselves, even if they normally didn't participate in class discussions. Blogging gave us different perspectives on each topic and allowed us to be more open minded on others opinions.

  11. Throughout this course, I think the blog did benefit me. It was a good way to learn people's names, classmates view points on topics, and learn more about what we talked about in class. Some of the other's answers were things I never even thought about and it was a good learning experience. Also, it was more of a laid back assignment, which I liked. I liked that there wasn't a specific answer and we could also share our views on topics.

  12. I'll be honest, I am very unorganized. I have a hard time keeping track of papers, and this online thing was nice because there were no papers for me lose. Plus as an added I feel more natural on a keyboard than on pen and paper. So I personally liked it. It was also nice seeing how everyone else thought and piggy backing off of that.
