  1. i feel that this quote is kind of violent. that what they are saying is that if people wont trade with one another then there will be a war for them to be able to trade for example if china wasn't willing to trade with the U.S. that the U.S. would go start a war with china because they wouldn't trade with us which is kind of a little kid thing

  2. I feel like this is a true statement because countries get angry when they don't get what they want. No one can produce everything one country will need so that's why trade all started and when they can't get what they think they need they think war is the answer and since they'll be scared of them that's how they'll give up there goods.

  3. my interpretation of the quote is that when countries refuse to trade with other countries, armies will force their way to get that resource.

  4. I believe what he means is that when a nation doesn't allow their resources to be exported armies will invade their nations in order to gain access to their resources which would otherwise be unavailable.

  5. My interpretation is that if a country doesn't want to trade with another country and it is worth something to the country that wants their goods said country will just come over and take what they want.

  6. I believe what he means is that when we don't trade with other countries then a war will start from not being able to get goods.

  7. I think that it means if someone cuts off the trade from one country the country that is being cut off might use military force to get what they want.

  8. I feel like the quote is saying that if we don't trade with other countries, their armies will fight. Countries need to trade with U.S because they need our products because we can produce and sell them cheaper. Also, we need to trade with other countries.

  9. When free trade is not possible then it is hard for countries to be "friends" there for countries who are not "friends" would be less forgiving to one another. This could start wars or different types of conflict between countries.

  10. i think that this quote is trying to say you better trade with us because if you don't we will send the army in it seems kinda violent.

  11. This quote isn't directly related to war. I feel as though he simply means what we all know. Humans tend to be greedy. We always want what others have. If trade was cut off in a specific place and an embargo arose, then all goods would be cut off as well. This is sure to rise conflict. America has already dealt with this in history. As a new born country the English throne tried to create tariffs/taxes on goods and services. This created conflict and eventually broke into a full blown war.

  12. I think this quote is talking about world greed and the need for the things people want. So when the goods don't come armies will.

  13. i think he means if we cant trade freely we are going to do what ever we can to get our goods, even if that means taking it by force?

  14. I think that when people do not get what they want or need they will find a way in the end to get it and it might not be the best outcome.

  15. I think he's got a good point. He is saying that if people can't get what they want civilly than they will use force to get what they want. If you look at how greedy people are now a days, you can see it all around. people see something they want, can't have it, so they take it by force.

  16. If we would share goods we could all have more in the world.

  17. My interpretation of this quote is that because there are trade restrictions in place and a certain country is refusing to trade with another country, the country may become offended and want to start a war. They might feel that they should be able to trade and don't think it is fair that the country doesn't want to trade with them.

  18. I feel this quote represents how if you quit trade with someone they will look at it as an insult. And it effects there economy I feel that there is no good message sent if you stop trade all it say's is you don't want anything to do with them.

  19. I believe that what Bastiat is trying to get at here is that free trade is good and when countries don't trade their goods with other countries, it could lead to war for those valuable goods. My takeaway is still fuzzy until I know more background info on this quote and know of the context in which it was written
